We can help participants explore suitable SDA options and provide funded disability supports within an SDA home where these supports are included in the participant’s plan.
What SDA is
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is purpose-designed housing for eligible participants with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. SDA funds the home itself, not the support workers inside it. Support in an SDA home, such as Supported Independent Living, is funded separately.
How we can help
- Working with the participant and their support coordinator to explore suitable SDA options
- Providing funded supports, including Supported Independent Living and Core Supports, within an SDA home
- Supporting transitions into a new home, including from hospital or custody
- Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) and Short Term Accommodation (STA) while a longer-term home is arranged, where funded
About SDA providers
SDA dwellings are provided by registered SDA providers, and each dwelling must be enrolled with the NDIA. We work alongside SDA providers so that housing and supports are arranged separately and the participant keeps genuine choice over both.
